At Next Generation Initiative, we see the faces and stories behind the alarming statistics. Our hearts are heavy as data confirms a sharp rise in knife violence across UK communities like London, Birmingham, and Manchester—a crisis that is disproportionately stealing the lives and potential of our young people.

The fact that there were over 4,000 hospital admissions for knife assaults in England and Wales in a single year, with so many of the victims being young, is more than a number. It represents a profound loss, a wave of trauma affecting families, schools, and entire communities. Each statistic is a young person whose future has been threatened, and a circle of loved ones living with fear and grief.

This is the cycle we are determined to break. Our mission is to respond to this crisis not with resignation, but with resolve. Through mentorship, opportunity, and unwavering support, we are dedicated to a single, powerful goal: Building Futures, Breaking Cycles. We believe every young person deserves a future defined by hope, not by harm, and we are committed to making that future a reality.

Skill Building

We directly confront the causes of youth vulnerability by providing empowerment through skills. We equip the next generation with vital tools—from financial literacy to professional CV writing—because we know that a solid foundation of practical and academic competencies is essential for building a stable, successful future.

Job Training

We provide direct job training and accredited qualifications to equip young people for the workforce. Our programs include vocational training and educational courses designed to lead to tangible employment.

We guide young people into pathways that match their ambitions, from securing apprenticeships for in-demand roles like accounting with AAT qualifications, to supporting them in returning to college to obtain essential GCSEs. We know that effective job training is fundamental—it’s about building a resume, building confidence, and ultimately, building a future free from violence.

Positive Role Models

We believe that a powerful role model can change a life's trajectory. Our one-to-one mentorship program is built on this principle, connecting each young person with a dedicated role model who provides guidance tailored to their unique aspirations.

Whether a young person dreams of a corporate career, a life in professional sports, or the entertainment industry, we match them with a mentor who can offer relevant insight, encouragement, and support. We see role models as the essential guides who help turn ambition into achievement.

Awareness

n our increasingly digital world, grooming has become an ever-present and growing threat. The same connectivity that brings us together can also be exploited to target young people, often just a few clicks away.

That’s why awareness is our first line of defense. We are committed to educating parents, guardians, and the entire community on how to spot the signs of grooming and take decisive, protective action. By shining a light on this issue, we empower our community to create a safer environment for every young person.
